The Bruner Foundation is interested in partnering with other funders and non-profit service providers on projects targeted at building evaluation capacity and/or evaluative thinking.

In making decisions, the foundation considers the following factors:

  • Who is involved?
In general partnership/collaborative initiatives with a visible champion are preferable.

  • What is the theory of change?
It is important that the initiative has defined what it wants to accomplish and why it has chosen a specific approach.

  • In what geographic region is the project located?
Proximity to the Rochester office facilitates collaborative work, but is not a requirement.

  • Does the project have other multi-year funding commitment/s?

  • How will the project contribute to advancing the field of evaluation capacity building and/or evaluative thinking?
Evaluative thinking is a fast growing field, and is critical to the effectiveness of non-profit service delivery. The Bruner Foundation seeks strategic partnerships which will contribute to the national dialogue on evaluation capacity building and evaluative thinking.
