Crossroads Project
Milwaukee, WI

The Bruner Foundation is pleased to award a 2007 Silver Medal and $10,000 to the Crossroads Project, including the Brady St. Bus Shelter, the Urban Plaza, and the Marsupial Bridge . The 2007 Selection Committee selected Crossroads from a field of over 90 applications from around the country, as an outstanding example of urban placemaking and as a model for excellence in the design of urban infrastructure. The Committee commended the project for:
  • Providing a new model for the use of "left over" space found in cities throughout the country;
  • Excellence in design for each of the three project elements;
  • Elevating the design quality of Milwaukee's urban infrastructure;
  • Providing a link in a developing network of pedestrian connections to and around the Milwaukee River.
