Rudy Bruner Award Selction Committees

Selection Process

Rudy Bruner Award winners are selected by a committee comprised of six urban experts, including a US mayor and prior award winner. The Committee meets twice: first in late January/early February to select five finalists and again in late May/early June to determine the medalists. Between the meetings, a Bruner Foundation team visits each finalist, spending two to three days touring the site, taking photographs, and interviewing people involved in the project. Findings are shared with the selection committee to inform their discussion and determination of the medalists, and later incorporated into winner case studies published by the foundation.
